Tewantin is a beautiful town on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. It is located on the Noosa River, and is the departure point for access to the famous North Shore beach drive which goes all the way to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island.
If anyone asks “where’s Tewantin?” – the easiest answer is “Noosa”! This is because Tewantin is part of a group of towns that all join together on the northern Sunshine Coast. Tewantin flows into Noosaville; which flows into Noosa; which flows into Sunshine Beach etc.
Tewantin is also home to some great tourist attractions – many of which provide tourists with the opportunity to see some amazing Australian wildlife, including the Tewantin Forest Reserve and the Tewantin Noosa golf course. And of course, after a long day of exploring the town there are many great places to go and eat! Some of these include the Riverdeck Restaurant, the Noosa Cruising Restaurant, The Boathouse Floating Restaurant, Trio’s On the River and many more. As the town is located on the Noosa River, river themed restaurants are very popular and seafood is plentiful!
Other close by localities are Cooroy and Eumundi – both about 15 minutes away by car.
